Hi! I'm Virginia Mae -
artist, photographer, and founder of
Virginia Mae Studios.
My creative path began in childhood, shaped by a family of artists, writers, and dancers. I fell in love with photography in a high school darkroom—it felt like painting with light. That spark led to a degree in Integrated Studio Arts with a focus on photography, and I’ve been telling stories through images ever since.

I specialize in candid, expressive photography that honors emotion, memory, and everyday beauty. Whether it’s a burst of laughter or the way light moves through a moment, I’m drawn to images that feel alive and unposed.
My creative practice is rooted in authenticity and intuition, reflecting the emotional rhythms I explore through both lens and brush. Virginia Mae Studios is where my photography (formerly GinnyMae Photography) and art combine.
